Who does not want a cute mini marble stand for their house? But the ones in the market are usually too expensive and fragile. Here at DIY works, we will show you how to make a mini marble stand all by yourself at home by simply following 5 easy steps! Read more to find out how it’s made.
Products needed for this DIY project:
1. 12” x 12” marble tiles
2. 2 x 4 wood
3. Gorilla construction adhesive
4. Tile saw
5. Mitre saw
Let us begin with our DIY project!
First, let’s make the layout of the marble stand so that we can mark out our exact measurements. Start by making a two-by-four size rectangle in the center of the underside of the marble tile. Extend all the lines of the rectangle that you just drew and draw a line parallel to each of them which is equal to the thickness of the tiles. Your layout should look like the one given in the picture below.
Now it’s time to start cutting the tiles. Measure the size of each tile on the layout that you just made and cut the rest of the marble tiles based on that using a miter saw. Don’t forget to sand the marble tiles once they have been cut to give them a smooth finish.
Measure the height of any one of the marble tiles and cut a scrap piece of 2 x 4 to match its height. This will form the center of the marble stand. Using a 2 x 4 piece of scrap wood is perfect for this as it is sturdy and will give the marble a strong base.
Now it’s time to assemble our mini marble stand! Using some gorilla construction adhesive or any other strong glue, stick the four marble tiles firmly to the 2 x 4 center wood piece. Your base structure should resemble the one given in the picture given below. Alternatively, you can also make your own layout with a different design.
Once the base is done, simply put a generous quantity of gorilla construction adhesive on the top of the base of the stand and stick the final marble tile firmly in place. Leave the whole structure to dry for some time.
Your DIY mini marble stand is now complete! This easy DIY has resulted in a beautiful addition to your house. Not only does it look seamless, but it’s also sturdy enough to carry the weight of anything you put on it. You could even use this table to display your other DIY projects!
